About

Lisa Rice, founder and director of Innovative Learning Solutions, has worked in all sectors of the afterschool field since 1984; public schools, universities, child care centers and nonprofit organizations. Lisa’s hands-on experience spans all aspects of afterschool program practice and management. This practical and applied knowledge has led her to a realistic and dynamic understanding of the challenges and joys of working with school-age youth during out-of-school time.

Lisa has expertise in training and consultation with various program types including large or small, multi- or single-site, for profit or non-profit, military or civilian. She is known for her ability to work closely with program directors and staff to create training that specifically meets the program’s needs. She is able to facilitate long-range strategic planning retreats and consults with program leaders, boards and policymakers to build local, state and national systems that support high quality afterschool programs.

For ten years Lisa has presented workshops for single and multi-site programs, at local, state and national conferences and conventions. She is a certified trainer in three afterschool specific curriculums: Afterschool 101: An Orientation for New Staff, Adventures in Peacemaking and Sports for All.
